President Tinubu Urges Decisive Action Against Security Threats in Presidential Briefing

In a recent Presidential Security Briefing at the State House in Abuja, President Bola Tinubu urged the nation's security chiefs to ensure a conclusive victory against the various security threats facing the country.

President Tinubu emphasized the need for coordinated efforts to eliminate security threats across multiple fronts, stating, "We have significant investments to make in soft and physical infrastructure, social security, MSME empowerment, and other growth enablers. Our pursuit of a $1 trillion economy hinges on a final conclusion to the multi-dimensional menace."

While acknowledging progress, the President cautioned against avoidable errors, referencing recent incidents in Kaduna as unacceptable. He praised improved coordination but stressed the importance of ending the progressive onslaught against enemies of progress, freeing up resources for economic expansion.

The President set a clear objective for the armed forces, urging them to ensure the nation achieves a sustainable production of two million barrels of crude oil per day, including condensates, by the first quarter of 2024. He underscored the seriousness of the task, warning that failure is not an option under his leadership.

Commending the dedication and commitment of key officers, including the Commander of the Presidential Air Fleet (PAF), the Commander of the Brigade of Guards (BoG), and the Chief Personal Security Officer (CPSO), President Tinubu promoted them in recognition of their exemplary service.

At the decoration ceremony, President Tinubu expressed his satisfaction with the officers' loyalty and dedication to duty, stating, "Nigeria calls all to serve. We are servants of the country, not masters. Your stewardship is reflected in the assignments you've undertaken."

The newly promoted officers, Air Vice Marshal Olayinka Olusola Oyesola, Brigadier-General Adebisi Olusegun Onasanya, and Deputy Commissioner of Police Usman Musa Shugaba, were decorated in the presence of high-ranking officials, including the Chief of Air Staff, Chief of Army Staff, and the Inspector General of Police.

Speaking on behalf of the officers, AVM Olayinka expressed gratitude for the promotion and pledged continued loyalty and commitment to duty under the leadership of President Tinubu. The event was attended by top officials, including the National Security Adviser, Minister of State for Defence, Service Chiefs, Heads of Intelligence Agencies, and presidential aides.
